IN LOVE WITH OSB

A unique space to reinterpret in a prestigious building expression of the 70s in Turin. The intervention starts from the assumption that in the impossibility of having separate rooms you still want to identify the spaces with precision through a game of levels. The main material is the OSB (Oriented Strand Board), a poor material, but at the same time suitable for structural functions, left natural while protected by water-based paint. The decisive character of this unusual texture guides the formal choices. The interior design is divided into two precise areas: the kitchen space, adjacent to the entrance and the living / sleeping area on the northwest wall. The material is used without exceeding its workmanship but with the desire to emphasize its warm color and interlocking tops. The custom-made stainless steel kitchen is strictly linked to a single worktop that unfolds creating a seat / shelf with plenty of sliding compartments. A black laminate riser runs on all the furniture allowing it to become an effective multi-purpose floor. A wall unit always in OSB enriches the washing area. The living area instead consists of another significant object: bed / sofa / wardrobe in one solution. The horizontal surfaces of the bed and the seat with hidden compartments are again in black laminate while the wardrobe in OSB. Significant is the library area in the headboard that emerges chromatically but with calibrated dimensions. All the objects have been characterized by a deep milling that indicates the opening. The space takes on a new identity and the two new multi-level multi-level pieces of furniture identify the most significant living spaces.
